Applying for Scholarships

- Read all the requirements and directions and apply only if you are eligible.
- Complete the application in full. Do not leave a question blank. If a question does not apply to you, note that in the application form. Supply all materials required in the directions but do not send anything not asked for.
- Type your application or print neatly and legibly. Make a couple of photocopies of all the forms before you fill them out. Use the copies as working drafts as you develop your application packet.
- Write a strong, personal and honest essay about yourself, needs, or plans.
- Act early. Ask for recommendation letters and transcripts, etc early,
- Send in all application materials before deadline and to the right places. Be sure to keep a copy for your record.
As a parent, let your child be in control. - Just encourage him (her) to apply and get the applications in on time.
