Admission Essays

Many people wonder whether admission officers read all the personal essays or read only those who are at the border line of being rejected.  It is true that they do spend more time reading essays of those students who are at the border line.  Most college admissions offices, however, do read all the personal essays submitted by applicants.  More and more studnets are applying to more colleges than ever before.  More applicants to colleges mean more scrutinizing when it comes to personal essays.  It is important to show the students commitment and passion in the personal essay for the chosen or proposed field of study.

I read a news article that a college admissions officer found 3 identical personal essays coming from 3 different people from 3 different countries. He was able to track back to the source of those essays, a web site that helps or sells personal essays. No doubt, as the article quotes, the 3 applicants were rejected. Be honest and be yourself.
